Surf is only the Beginning.
Dive into amazing landscapes and scenarios at Costa de Caparica.
The town has the same name as the coastline, and is a cheery place with shops and nice restaurants and cozy cafes and and sea side beach bars with healthy and typical food indulging yourself in a nature atmosphere with it´s 30 kms of beach line.
Costa da Caparica seemingly never-ending beach attracts sun-worshipping craving all-over tans, surfers keen to ride Atlantic waves, and families seeking clean sea and soft sand. Heading south and the high-rises soon give way to pine forests and mellow beach-shack cafes.

Dazzling Beaches
The beaches of Costa da Caparica can be divided into three sections: the North (São João da Caparica), which skews more middle-to-upper class and trendy the Villa, which includes the town beaches from Praia do Norte in the north to Nova Praia in the south; and the South, which begins at Saúde and carries on to Fonte da Telha and is best accessed by the Transpraia train in summer, which operates on a narrow-gauge railway running the length of the southern beaches (you can jump off at any one of over 20 stops).
Surf yourself into Paradise.
With 30 km of coast you have several peaks to choose from and crowd will not be an issue since there are waves for all tastes and levels. Costa de Caparica is one the most consistent beach breaks in Europe.
In Costa de Caparica Surf is an institution and it’s not a hobby but a way of life. We are more than happy to help you shredding your first waves. We have surf lessons and rentals to provide for all levels. So let’s grab a few waves together.
You can also use a car and head to Estrada Florestal to access this never ending beach coast.
Beaches nearer to town, including Praia do Norte and Praia do Santo António, are great for families (as is the South's Praia da Cabana do Pescador at stop 12, which boasts a playground), while the further out in either direction are younger and trendier. Praia 19 (stop 19) is a more secluded gay and nudist haven.
